EXPERT COACHING

Keith Knapp is a former collegiate athlete & and former global marketing director at CrossFit HQ where he worked directly with those whose job it was to lead training for CrossFit globally. He has nearly two decades of experience coaching and developing athletes from Pre-K through College using the core tenets of the CrossFit methodology. He's a Level 1 CrossFit trainer and has certificates that include; Anatomy, Coaching Fundamentals, Spot the Flaw, Teaching Movement, and more.

FOCUS ON ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

As an accomplished athlete and professional himself, Keith has a unique perspective on well-rounded development. Maintaining a keen focus on healthy development in athletes is critical for preventing injury, developing strong character, protecting against burnout, and establishing the foundations for a lifetime of fitness that will result in better people, not just better athletes. 

CROSSFIT METHODOLOGY

Greg Glassman wrote in "What is Fitness?" that "there are 10 recognized general physical skills. They are cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. You are as fit as you are competent in each of these 10 skills. A regimen develops fitness to the extent that it improves each of these 10 skills."​ This was just one model of Fitness that CrossFit defined, which revolutionized Health and Wellness in the early 2000s.

 

At CrossFit Fairfield, we inherently believe in CrossFit and use it as a foundation for developing athletes.

OUR COMMUNITY

Every CrossFit gym in the world says "community" is their difference maker. And, we believe the same is true of CrossFit Fairfield. Our athletes are - or become - close friends quickly, because shared "suffering" is perhaps the most universal driver of finding common ground. Every athlete who shows up to our classes experiences a range of emotions alongside their peers that unites them. They learn to appreciate the opportunity they have to seek and achieve self-improvement. And, they learn quickly that this all applies to much more than fitness.
